I recently launched a website showcasing my work as a 2022-23 Brumley Fellow at UT's Strauss Center. The site relies on a dataset that I built to describe over 5,500 pieces of high-risk infrastructure in Texas.Â
The purpose of the project is to help Texans understand their personal infrastruture risk. The data and suite of tools on the website help focus attention on select pieces of infrastructure that, upon failure, would have a substantial physical or economic impact on Texans. Recent infrastructure failures in the state helped me understand why this is valuable. My hope is that people can use the site to better understand their personal risk profile.
You can find the project at InfraRiskTX.org. Thank you to the Brumleys, the Strauss Center, and Bryan Jones for their support on the project.
